Muleskinner honored with Best in State award by Missouri College Media Association

The University of Central Missouri student news outlet, The Muleskinner, received the Best In State Cup award during the Missouri College Media Association (MCMA) and Missouri Broadcast Educators Association’s (MBEA) Convention on April 6 at Kansas City’s Crown Center.

Liberty Center planning for year full of concerts

SEDALIA — The Liberty Center Association Concert Committee is planning a stellar year with several concerts and entertainment offerings on the horizon.

Warrensburg Farmers' Market preparing for 2024 season

A true sign that summer is on its way, the Warrensburg Farmers’ Market will host its annual Moonlight Market on Saturday, April 27, followed by the first Saturday of the regular season on Saturday, May 4.

West Central Electric Cooperative announced that three area high school students are preparing to pack their bags for a week in Washington, D.C., following the 2024 Rural Electric Youth Tour finals hosted April 3.

Holden man arrested for DWI after accident
Arandon E. McConnell, 20, was arrested on March 19 for shoplifting from a business in the 300 block of East Cooper Boulevard. Asset Protection reported that a known male subject stole $298 worth of merchandise. He was arrested and transported to the Warrensburg Police Department, processed and released.
Driver arrested for DWI after crash
Khaniah S. Woodson, 18, was arrested on March 11 for stealing at a business in the 300 block of Cooper Boulevard. An employee from the business reported that they had a female subject in the office who failed to pay for multiple items, passing the last point of sale. She was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department, processed and released.

UCM junior from Sweet Springs receives top student employee award

Donovan Hoyes, a junior accounting major from Sweet Springs, has received the top honor in an annual program that recognizes exemplary student employees at the University of Central Missouri. Hoyes received the Student Employee of the Year award in the ceremony conducted on April 8 by UCM’s Office of Human Resources.
