Cahill named Warrensburg High School Principal for 2025-26

Warrensburg High School has announced Dr. Kyle Cahill as its new principal for the 2025-2026 school year.

Cahill brings extensive experience, a passion for education, and a commitment to fostering academic excellence to this leadership role.

Cahill, a fourth-generation educator, views education as the family business. He and his wife, Amanda, have been married for seven years and are proud parents to two young children, Reagan (4) and Carson (3). The couple’s journey in education began in the Belton School District, where they met while teaching and coaching.

Cahill’s impressive academic achievements include earning a Bachelor of Science in Education - Social Studies from the University of Central Missouri, a Master’s in Administration from William Woods University, a Master’s in Education, School, and Counseling Psychology from the University of Missouri - Columbia, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from William Woods University.

His administrative career highlights demonstrate his dedication to educational leadership and student success. He served as Assistant Athletics and Activities Director for the Holden School District from 2018 to 2020 before becoming the High School Assistant Principal at Clinton High School (2020-2021), where he also served as A+ Coordinator. Dr. Cahill then assumed the role of High School Principal at Lexington High School (2021-2022), where he also served as the District Title IX Coordinator. Since 2022, he has been the High School Assistant Principal at Warrensburg High School. Additionally, Dr. Cahill shares his expertise as an Adjunct Professor at William Woods University, teaching Master’s and Specialist Degree Programs in Curriculum and Instruction since 2021.

Cahill has received numerous accolades for his contributions to education. He was recognized as the Belton High School Teacher of the Year and was a finalist for the School District Teacher of the Year in 2017. Most recently, in 2024, he was honored as the Missouri Association of Secondary School Principals (MoASSP) Central Region Assistant Principal of the Year. His leadership training includes participation in the Missouri Leadership Development System and the MoDESE Leadership Academy, and he is an active member of the MoASSP.

“I am both excited and deeply honored to step into the role of Principal at Warrensburg High School,” Cahill said. “WHS has a strong tradition of excellence, and I am eager to work alongside the talented staff, dedicated students, and supportive community to build on that foundation. Together, we will continue to foster a positive learning community and inspiring environment where every student has the opportunity to thrive and achieve their fullest potential.”

Dr. Steve Ritter, Superintendent of School commented, “We are excited to have Dr. Cahill step into the principal role at Warrensburg High School. He has spent the last three years forming strong relationships with our students and upholding high expectations for our faculty, staff, and students. As both a superintendent and a father of two students at the high school next year, I am excited to see his vision for WHS play out. He is committed to the safety of our students, ensuring high levels of student engagement and achievement, and continuing to find ways to offer new opportunities for our students.”
