The City of Warrensburg will host a town hall forum regarding ballot questions set for the April 4 municipal election. The forum will begin at 5 p.m. Thursday, March 30 at the Warrensburg Municipal Center, 200 S. Holden St.
All citizens and interested parties are welcome to attend the forum.
The ballot questions are written below.
City Sales Tax for Public Safety, Capital Improvements and General Purposes: Shall the City Council of the City of Warrensburg, Missouri be authorized to increase its general sales tax by one percent for the purpose of providing funds for the City, with one-half (1/2) of such taxes collected to be used for public safety in the City and one-half (1/2) of such taxes collected to be used for general purposes of the City including but not limited to additional staffing, increased compensation and benefits for employees, and infrastructure and capital improvements for the City?
City Sales Tax for Marijuana: Shall the City of Warrensburg, Missouri, impose a sales tax of three percent (3%) on all tangible personal property retail sales of adult use marijuana sold in the City of Warrensburg, Missouri?
