COVID precautions return to Trails Regional

Posted

As of Aug. 8, all branches of Trails Regional Library have moved into COVID Level Two.

Branches will continue to be open with full service, full staff and regular hours.

Due to increased cases in Johnson and Lafayette counties, Director Jackie Hawes has made the decision to move library branches from Level One to Level Two.

This level still includes safety precautions without limiting access to library services.

The COVID Level Plan was approved in August 2021 by the Trails Regional Library Board of Trustees.

The plan includes five color-coded levels specific to each branch location.

Any future level changes will be communicated on posted signs outside every library building, on the library website, social media and shared with local news outlets.

Even in the highest level of five, library service will be available on an appointment basis and Curbside Service, Digital Resources and 24/7 parking lot WiFi access will continue as normal.

This COVID Level plan reflects new library workflows established since the pandemic's beginning.

Mitigation strategies, including self-checkout machines and protective barriers around circulation desks, are now a fixture of library service and will allow the library to maintain a higher level of accessibility regardless of changes in the pandemic or other health crises.
