Juvenile injured in Aug. 15 wreck 

One person is reported to have minor injuries in a wreck Aug. 15 on Highway 2 at Pennsylvania Avenue. 

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the wreck occurred when a Mongoose bicycle, driven by a 13-year-old juvenile of Chilhowee, was crossing the highway and was struck by an unknown vehicle. The unknown vehicle left the scene. 

The juvenile is reported to have minor injuries and was transported to Western Missouri Medical Center by private conveyance. 

The juvenile is reported to have not worn a safety device. 

The Mongoose is reported to have moderate damage. 

Warrensburg man injured in Aug. 16 wreck 

One person is reported to have minor injuries from a single-vehicle wreck Aug. 16 in the 600 block of Northeast Highway 50. 

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the wreck occurred when a 1999 Toyota Camry, driven by Tyler J. Kelsey, 27, of Warrensburg, lost control and began to hydroplane, traveling off the left side of the roadway into the median. 

Kelsey is reported to have minor injuries and was transported by private conveyance to Western Missouri Medical Center. 

Kelsey is reported to have worn a safety device. 

The Toyota is reported to have minor damage. 

Serious injuries reported in wreck on Highway 50 

One person is reported to have serious injuries and one person is reported to have minor injuries from a two-vehicle wreck Aug. 17 on Highway 50 at 351 Road. 

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the wreck occurred when a 1995 International 8100, driven by Damon P. Hercules, 60, of Holt, slowed to make a left turn into the crossover and was struck by a 2006 Chevrolet 2500, driven by Dillon A. Staton, 19, of Carrollton. 

Staton is reported to have serious injuries and was transported by the Johnson County Ambulance District to Western Missouri Medical Center. 

Hercules is reported to have minor injuries and was transported by personal conveyance to Western Missouri Medical Center. 

Staton is reported to have worn a safety device. Hercules is reported to have not worn a safety device. 

The Chevrolet is reported to be a total loss. 

Springfield woman seriously injured in Aug. 17 wreck 

One person is reported to have serious injuries from a single-vehicle wreck Aug. 17 at the northern junction of Business Highway 13 and Highway 13. 

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the wreck occurred when a 2012 Nissan Altima, driven by Vicki L. Hill, 69, of Springfield, failed to negotiate the roundabout and traveled off the left side of the roadway and struck four signs. 

Hill is reported to have serious injuries and was transported by the Johnson County Ambulance District to Western Missouri Medical Center. 

Hill is reported to have worn a safety device. 

The Nissan is reported to be a total loss. 

Man arrested after Aug. 17 wreck 

One person is reported to have minor injuries from a single-vehicle wreck Aug. 17 on Southwest 71 Road at Southwest 880 Road. 

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the wreck occurred when a 2004 Ford F150, driven by William W. Porter, 66, of Peculiar, traveled off the right side of the roadway, struck a ditch and struck a tree. 

Porter is reported to have minor injuries and was transported by the Johnson County Ambulance District to Western Missouri Medical Center. 

Porter is reported to have not worn a safety device. 

Porter was later arrested on charges of driving while intoxicated, driver failure to wear a fastened safety belt, failure to maintain insurance and failure to drive on the right half of the roadway resulting in a collision. 

The Ford is reported to have extensive damage.
