Super Stock car overturns during race on April 29

Serious injuries were reported in a single-vehicle wreck on April 29 at Central Missouri Speedway, 5 NE Route V.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the wreck occurred when a 1978 Chevrolet Monte Carlo driven by Andrew B. Zeller, 38, of Blackwater, failed to navigate a curve on the racetrack, traveled off an embankment, became airborne, and began to overturn, striking several trees.

Zeller is reported to have serious injuries and was taken by Life Flight to the University of Kansas Hospital.

Moderate injuries in April 29 wreck

Moderate injuries were reported in a single-vehicle wreck on April 29 on Northwest 1001st Road.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the wreck occurred when a northbound 2206 Kia Spectra driven by Kayle L. Gee, 31, of Odessa, noticed a side-by-side traveling southbound near the center of the roadway. Gee steered off the road to avoid a collision and struck a tree.

Gee is reported to have moderate injuries and was transported to Western Missouri Medical Center by the Johnson County Ambulance District.

Serious injuries in April 30 wreck

Serious injuries were reported in a motorcycle wreck on April 29 on Highway 2, west of 1651st Road.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the wreck occurred as the 1988 Honda motorcycle driven by Kenneth L. Berryman, 44, of Holden, traveled off the right side of the roadway, overturned and ejected both occupants.

Occupant April A. Keys, 35, of Holden, is reported to have serious injuries and was taken by Life Flight to Research Medical Center in Kansas City. Berryman sustained minor injuries and was transported to Research Medical Center by private vehicle.

Fatality reported in April 30 wreck

A fatality and serious injuries were reported in a single-vehicle wreck on April 20 in the 1600 block of Northwest 200th Road.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the wreck occurred when a 1990 John Deere Gator driven by Robert D. Bush, 69, of Kingsville, overturned.

Bush is reported to have serious injuries and was transported to Research Medical Center in Kansas City by JCAD.

Occupant Sharon K. Bemboom, 69, of Bates City, was pronounced dead at the scene.
