Minor injuries reported in two-vehicle wreck Dec. 16

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports one person was injured in a two-vehicle wreck Dec. 16 on Highway 2 east of Southwest 271 Road. 

The wreck occurred as a 2005 Infiniti, driven by Cristo A. Gomez, 20, of Oak Grove, stopped on a hillcrest and was struck in the rear by a 2013 Cadillac, driven by Helen M. Winters, 85, of Dixon. 

Winters is reported to have minor injuries and was transported by Johnson County Emergency Medical Services to Western Missouri Medical Center. 

Gomez and Winters are both reported to have worn a safety device. 

Both vehicles are reported to have extensive damage and were towed from the scene. 

MSHP was assisted by the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office.
