Two seriously injured in Dec. 22 wreck on Highway 50

Two people were seriously injured in a wreck Dec. 22 at Highway 50 and Highway AA. 

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the wreck occurred when a 2009 Nissan Rogue came to a stop on a hill crest, an unknown vehicle swerved in front of a 2017 Peterbilt to avoid the Nissan and the Peterbilt struck the rear of the Nissan. 

Occupants of the Nissan, driver Renita R. Wallace, 64, of Knob Noster and Dustin  B. Young, 37, are reported to have serious injuries. 

The MSHP reports it is unknown if Wallace or Young wore a safety device. 

The driver of the Peterbilt, Max E. Horner, 39, of Mound City, is reported to have worn a safety device. 

Wallace and Young were transported by Johnson County Ambulance District to Centerpoint Hospital.
