We all know the serious side of wine; however, there is also a comic side. Very often, the comedy is in the label or a story about the wine, and I would like to offer the reader some of those … more
I made you something for Valentine’s Day. It took years, and I almost gave up. But I finally finished, wrapped it in a yellow cover, and put a big pink heart on it, just in time for February 14th. … more
Twice in the past week, I’ve dreamed vividly of gardens. Ethereal backyard gardens featuring forests of dill, towering, twenty-foot sunflowers, basil so perfect it was sparkling, and superabundant … more
What would you do if you had “stupid money”? That’s one of the questions I asked my three best friends from high school during our recent weekend reunion. At first, their answers were practical … more
I am writing this in defense of wine. Wine is an alcoholic product that is produced naturally by the greatest winemaker of them all, Mother Nature. To confirm the last statement, take some unwashed … more
World Cancer Day was on Wednesday, Feb. 4.  Normally I don’t care for “awareness holidays,” but I make a yearly exception for this one. Too many people are still unaware of what could be … more

Ever heard the term “sad beige children?” It’s used to describe those kiddos whose mothers dress them only in neutral tones, usually in expensive natural fibers. They’re all gentle parented, their toys are made of non-toxic bamboo, and they’ve certainly never set foot inside a McDonalds. Although, if they did, they’d fit right in.
