A public community forum on 7-OH and Kratom will be held at 5:30 p.m. March 19 in the Nahm Auditorium at the University of Central Missouri.
Kratom and 7-OH have been listed as substances of concern by the Missouri Hospital Association and they are unregulated and can be purchased by any age at gas stations and smoke shops.
The event will include a presentation by Hope Edwards, the Opioid Project and Collegiate Recovery Coordinator from Partners in Prevention at the University of Missouri. There will be Q&A time for the audience.
The event is supported by the Johnson County Prevention Coalition, Recovery Lighthouse, Johnson County Community Health, Johnson County Ambulance District, Western Missouri Medical Center and Johnson County Recovery Court. It is also supported by the UCM Biology Department, Campus Community Health, and Marriage and Family Therapy Clinic.
