WARRENSBURG – For many, the holiday season officially kicks off this Thursday for Thanksgiving.
While some will spend hours in the kitchen, laboring over meals they’ve had planned for weeks, others will opt to eat out or might need to run to the market for a last-minute ingredient.
Last week, the Warrensburg Convention and Visitors Bureau shared an Instagram post detailing some businesses in town that are open on Thanksgiving Day.
The Star-Journal added a few more to put together a list of a few restaurants and markets that will be open Thursday for folks who may need to stop in for some cranberry sauce or pick up some takeout.

For those who need a coffee fix before heading out of town for Thanksgiving travels, Dutch Bros Coffee located at 325 E. Russell Ave. will be open from 5:30 a.m. to noon. Their holiday menu complete with Candy Cane Mochas and Jingle Nog Lattes will be available for folks to enjoy.
As another drive-thru coffee alternative, 7-Brew Coffee at 300 E. Russell Ave. will open at 5:30 a.m. and close at 2 p.m. The stand will have their classic menu along with seasonal favorites.
Captain’s Sports Lounge at 630 E. Young Ave. will have their bar area open from 3 p.m. to midnight on Nov. 27 for a screening of the Kansas City Chiefs game.
If preparing breakfast and lunch feels overwhelming on Turkey Day, Country Kitchen at 205 E. Cleveland St. will be open for their “Thanksgiving Feast” from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Fitter’s Pub at 131 W. Pine St. will open from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. that night for folks who want to grab a pint or two post-Thanksgiving meal.
Just down the road from Fitter’s at 107 W. Pine St., Heroes Restaurant and Pub will host a limited Thanksgiving menu from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for the community to enjoy.
If folks need a break from turkey and stuffing, Hong Kong Express at 601 S. Maguire St. will be open from 10:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. for dine-in, carry-out or delivery.
PHO-4U at 320 E. Young Ave. will also be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. for those who are wanting to branch out from a traditional Thanksgiving meal.
Subway’s sandwiches, salads and wraps will be available at all Warrensburg locations during regular business hours from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thanksgiving Day.
Yummy’s Donut Palace at 709 S. Maguire St. will also be open during regular business hours from 5 a.m. to 1 p.m. for folks who need a quick sugar fix.
IHOP will be open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Though Walmart and Hy-Vee will both be closed on Thanksgiving, there are a few gas stations and convenience stores here in Warrensburg that will be open to offer folks quick service.

The local staple will be open from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Thanksgiving morning.
Break Times in Warrensburg will be operating under normal business hours during Thanksgiving. Like most convenience stores, Break Times have a small section where folks can grab canned goods and last-minute ingredients if they’re in a pinch.
Casey’s gas stations and convenience stores will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. here in town.
Old Glory Market out on 7 SW County Rd. BB will be open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. for anyone who needs to pick up quick items Thanksgiving Day
