Serious injuries reported in Highway 50 wreck

One person is reported to have serious injuries from a two-vehicle wreck July 15 on Highway 50 at Northwest 311 Road. 

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the wreck occurred when a 2015 Chevrolet, driven by Zachary C. Riley, 28, of Cole Camp, struck the rear of a 2001 Kenworth, driven by Michael A. Klamert, 47, of Atlanta. The Chevrolet came to rest in the median. 

Riley is reported to have serious injuries and was transported by the Johnson County Ambulance District to Research Medical Center in Kansas City. 

Riley is reported to have not worn a safety device. Klamert is reported to have worn a safety device. 

The Chevrolet is reported to be a total loss and the Kenworth is reported to have moderate damage. 

MSHP was assisted by the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office. 

One injured in wreck on Route TT 

One person is reported to have minor injuries from a single-vehicle wreck July 15 on Route TT west of Southwest 1821 Road. 

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the wreck occurred when a 2003 Ford F150, driven by John K. McRoy, 64, of Kingsville, traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a culvert. 

McRoy is reported to have minor injuries and was transported to Western Missouri Medical Center by the Johnson County Ambulance District. 

McRoy is reported to have worn a safety device. 

The Ford is reported to be a total loss.
