Final Third Wednesday of 2026 to be held Sept. 16

Posted

Warrensburg Main Street has turned the third Wednesday of the Spring and Summer months into a vibrant downtown celebration with the Third Wednesdays event. This event brings together local artisans, downtown businesses and community members to showcase the creativity and spirit of Downtown Warrensburg.

The final event of the 2026 season will take place from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16,  along Holden and Market Streets in Downtown Warrensburg. The September event will bring together local artists, makers, nonprofits, and community groups for an evening of shopping, community connections, and activities in Downtown Warrensburg. As the final Third Wednesday of the season, the September event will provide one last opportunity for the community to enjoy this monthly downtown gathering.

Live Entertainment has been added to Third Wednesdays this season. At the upcoming Third Wednesdays event on Sept. 16, Abbie Hullinger will be performing live on the Johnson County Courthouse Lawn from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.. She will be bringing bluesy-rock music to the streets

for our final Third Wednesday of the year. In addition to artisan crafts and live entertainment, Farmers’ Market vendors attending the September’s Third Wednesday will offer fresh herbs, baked goods and some local produce.

To support these activities, a street closure will be in effect to ensure the safety of the vendors and the community from 3:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. for East Market St from North Holden St. to 110 E Market St. Public parking remains available throughout Downtown Warrensburg, including surrounding side streets and public lots. Check out Warrensburg Main Street’s Third Wednesdays Facebook event and their website for further information on street closures and day of event maps.

“Third Wednesdays have been a place for talent and creativity to shine and receive the support it deserves.”, says Event Coordinator Megan Woods. “We hope the community comes out on September 16th for the final Third Wednesday of the season for one last celebration of the season.”

Third Wednesdays not only celebrate local creativity but also support Downtown Warrensburg businesses by encouraging extended hours and increased foot traffic. Many downtown businesses will offer extended shopping hours during Third Wednesdays, giving attendees additional opportunities to shop and dine throughout the event. The event provides a unique opportunity for businesses to connect with the community, attract customers after work hours, and even collaborate with local artists. By participating in Third Wednesdays, downtown businesses gain additional exposure and marketing opportunities, reinforcing the district as a vibrant hub for shopping, dining, and entertainment.

This is a free event to attend and enjoy. Vendor participation is free with advance registration with Main Street staff and all community members are welcome to attend. Community members can expect an evening of art, entertainment, shopping, food, and handcrafted goods on Third Wednesdays with more than 40 vendors lining the streets.

The 2026 Third Wednesdays series is made possible through the support of generous sponsors: The City of Warrensburg, Community National Bank & Trust, Equity Bank, and The Next Door Agents. The 2026 sponsors commitment to celebrating local creativity and enriching the downtown community helps make events like this possible.

Third Wednesdays are organized by Warrensburg Main Street’s Promotion Committee. This committee’s purpose is to project a positive, unified image to identify downtown as a gathering place. Revitalization programs market the district and the community through a series of targeted activities such as special events and festivals, which highlight the local culture, art, music, dance and traditions that give each community its unique identity.
