Former Crest Ridge School District employee Dylan Joseph Skeens was arrested by the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office on Friday, July 25.

According to the Johnson County Jail’s roster, Skeens was arrested for sexual conduct with a student.

Skeens had not yet been arraigned in the 17th Judicial Circuit Court as of the Star-Journal's production deadline early Monday, July 28.

According to Crest Ridge’s staff directory, Skeens served as a high school physical education teacher. He also served as the head track and field coach and an assistant football coach.

Skeens was placed on administrative leave in late April and has since been terminated from the District.

"The District is aware of the recent arrest of Dylan Skeens, a former employee of the District,” the District said in a statement. “When the District was made aware of the underlying allegations, the employee was immediately placed on leave and termination proceedings occurred shortly thereafter, while the District also worked with law enforcement in its investigation. Student safety is our first and highest priority, and any staff member’s failure to maintain appropriate, professional relationships with our students is not tolerated.”

The Johnson County Jail roster states he was booked at 10:25 a.m. Friday and released at 1:20 p.m. His bond was listed at $15,000.
