Missouri Highway 2 in Johnson County will be closed this summer for a bridge replacement.
According to a news release, the Missouri Department of Transportation will close Highway 2 over Mineral Creek near Leeton starting Monday, June 3. The project is located 2.2 miles east of Missouri Highway 13 and 0.5 miles west of Lee Street in Leeton.
A signed detour is in place to direct motorists around the closure. Work is anticipated to be completed in August. All work is weather permitting.
MoDOT reminds motorists to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones, which can be moving operations such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short-term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
