The Warrensburg Arts Commission is excited to announce a call for original poetry for installation in several parks in the city. Poets interested in having their work displayed are encouraged to submit up to five short poems by Oct. 1, 2026. Submitted poems will be adjudicated by a local judge, who will select ten poems for the 2027 edition of Poetry in the Parks.
Poems must be the original work of the submitting writer and suitable for readers of all ages. Subjects such as the natural world, outdoor activity, thoughtful speculation, and personal experience are appropriate topics for this public arts initiative. Poems must be no longer than 20 lines and not more than 50 characters per line. Full guidelines and submission instructions may be found on the Arts Commission webpage, warrensburg-mo.com/163/Arts-Commission. Any questions regarding Poetry in the Parks may be sent to wac@warrensburg-mo.com.
