Robert “Bob” True, 71, of Warsaw, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 9, 2018, at Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Gladys True of Kansas City.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy True, of the home; daughter, Annie True of Warrensburg; son, David True of Warrensburg; two stepdaughters, Dana Salsbury of Joplin and Kari Warner of Windsor; and a stepson, Scott Williams of Neosho.

Bob graduated from Van Horn High School in Kansas City in the class of 1965. In 1967, he enlisted in the United States Navy and served as a 2nd class engine mechanic aboard the USS Newport News until he was honorably discharged in 1970.

He worked as a mechanic and supervisor at Yellow Freight Systems for 28 years.

Bob was known to many as the owner/operator of Meadowlark Lanes Bowling Alley in Clinton.

A private burial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 14, at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville.
