The early December winter weather is keeping area students at home for another day on Tuesday, Dec. 2.
Warrensburg R-VI and Holden R-III, Crest Ridge R-VII, Leeton R-X, Chilhowee R-IV will have their first snow day of the 2025-26 school year, while Knob Noster Public Schools and Kingsville R-1 will have an AMI (Alternative Methods of Instruction) day.
National Weather Service snowfall reports indicate three to four inches of snow fell in Warrensburg on Monday, Dec. 1.
Reported information also lists 2.5 inches of snow at Swisher Skyhaven Airport and 3.5 inches north of Pittsville.
Additional precipitation is not expected in the region through the remainder of the week.
The primary concern now goes to cold and potential overnight refreezing of both treated and untreated surfaces.
As of late Monday night, U.S. 50 Highway is reported to be partly covered while Missouri Route 13, Missouri Route 58, Missouri Route 2 and portions of Interstate 70 are listed to be covered.

Temperatures are expected to fall to 15 degrees overnight Monday, with the high reaching 35 degrees on Tuesday.
On Wednesday, temperatures will climb to 38, with an overnight low of 7 degrees expected. Wind of 5 to 10 miles per hour, in addition to gusts of up to 20 miles per hour, is possible.
The high is expected to reach approximately 23 degrees on Thursday, with a low of 13.
Temperatures are expected to break into the 40s on Friday.
