WARRENSBURG — Warrensburg Main Street has turned the third Wednesday of the summer months into a vibrant downtown celebration with the Third Wednesdays event. This event brings together local artisans, downtown businesses and community members together to showcase the creativity and spirit of Downtown Warrensburg.
Warrensburg Main Street rebranded Third Wednesday Art Walks to just Third Wednesdays as a way to create more opportunities for the community to show off their creative sides and bring culture into downtown. In addition, the community can also find a handful of Warrensburg Farmers’ Market vendors set up on Market Street throughout the season.
Live Entertainment has been added to Third Wednesdays this season. At the upcoming Third Wednesdays event on July 15, Jakob Reinke, lead singer of “The Nobodies,”will perform a solo acoustic set as “Jake Jams.” This acoustic concert will take place on the Johnson County Courthouse Lawn from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. In addition to artisan crafts and live entertainment, July’s Third Wednesday Farmers’ Market vendors will offer fresh herbs, baked goods and some local produce.
To support these activities, a street closure will be in effect to ensure the safety of the vendors and the community from 3:30pm-7:30pm for E Market St from N Holden St to 110 E Market St. Public parking remains available throughout Downtown Warrensburg, including surrounding side streets and public lots. Check out Warrensburg Main Street’s Third Wednesdays Facebook event and their website for further information on street closures and day of event maps.
“Since we had to cancel the June Third Wednesday due to severe weather, we are even more excited to see the creativity the community is bringing in July,” Communications Coordinator Megan Woods said.
Third Wednesdays not only celebrate local creativity but also support Downtown Warrensburg businesses by encouraging extended hours and increased foot traffic. Many downtown businesses will offer extended shopping hours during Third Wednesdays, giving attendees additional opportunities to shop and dine throughout the event.
The event provides a unique opportunity for businesses to connect with the community, attract customers after work hours, and even collaborate with local artists. By participating in Third Wednesdays, downtown businesses gain additional exposure and marketing opportunities, reinforcing the district as a vibrant hub for shopping, dining, and entertainment.
Participation in the Third Wednesday is free for anyone who would like to share their creativity, and all community members are welcome to attend. This is a free event to attend and enjoy. Community members can expect an evening of art, entertainment, shopping, food, and handcrafted goods on Third Wednesdays with more than 50 vendors lining the streets each month.
Remaining dates are Aug. 19 and Sept. 16, from 5 p.m to 7p.m. on Holden and Market Street. Artists, makers, nonprofits, and community groups interested in participating can find vendor information and applications at www.warrensburgmainstreet.org. Applications are due the Wednesday prior to each monthly event.
The 2026 Third Wednesdays series is made possible through the support of generous sponsors: The City of Warrensburg, Community National Bank & Trust, Equity Bank, and The Next Door Agents. The 2026 sponsors commitments to celebrating local creativity and enriching the downtown community helps make events like this possible.
