Two residents were injured in an apartment fire Friday, May 16, in Warrensburg.
According to the Warrensburg Fire Department, firefighters were dispatched to a reported fire alarm at a milt-unit apartment building at 7:28 p.m.
Johnson County E-911 received additional calls confirming a working structure fire, resulting in an upgrade to a confirmed commercial structure fire at 7:31 p.m.
Firefighters worked to attack the fire and evacuate any residents remaining in the building.
Two occupants were treated by the Johnson County Ambulance District for injuries. One was treated and released at the scene, while one was transported to the hospital.
The fire was under control by 7:47 p.m. It was contained to the apartment of origin, though other areas of the building sustained minor smoke and water damage.
WFD was assisted by the Johnson County Fire Protection District. JCFPD also provided coverage for WFD until units returned to service.
Crews cleared the location just before 10 p.m.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
