Posted

A Warrensburg man is facing charges for possession of child sexual abuse material and drugs following an investigation conducted by the  Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Special Victims Unit.

Adam W. Patton, 46, has been charged with four counts of possession of child sexual abuse material and one count of possession of a controlled substance.

The charges come following a July  MSHP investigation that found an IP address associated with Patton had been used to distribute child sexual abuse material over the internet.

The MSHP completed a search warrant at Patton’s Warrenburg residence on Sept.17. During the search, law enforcement found evidence of child sexual abuse material on an electronic device. They also located methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

Patton was arrested and transported to the Johnson County Jail. The drug charges were filed by Johnson County Prosecutor Robert Russell on Sept. 17. On Sept. 21, the possession of child sexual abuse material charges were added.

Patton is being held on a $75,000 bond.
