Stefanie N. Durham, 40, faces one count each of second-degree domestic assault and first-degree endangering the welfare of a child after a domestic disturbance was reported at her residence on Wednesday, July 23 in Warrensburg.

According to a probable cause statement, Johnson County Deputies responded to the residence, where they met a teenager who claimed that Durham hit, grabbed and threw them against a counter.

The victim also claimed that Durham grabbed a steak knife during the incident and began yelling at them. The knife was never used, but after putting it down, Durham continued to hit the victim with a closed fist. When the juvenile attempted to run, they tripped and landed on the floor, where Durham placed her arm around their neck.

The responding deputy observed red marks on the victim's chin and left arm following the incident. The deputy also spoke with a witness who called 911.

Durham was found intoxicated in the backyard of the residence. She admitted to being in an argument with the teen but denied physically assaulting them or grabbing a knife. Durham provided a breath sample and was found to have a breath alcohol content of .157.

A warrant for Durham’s arrest was issued on Thursday, July 24, with a $20,000 cash only bond. The warrant was served Thursday afternoon.

A bond reduction hearing is set to be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 30, at the Johnson County Justice Center with Judge Kaitlyn Roach assigned to the case.
