Students celebrate FBLA District 10 Leadership Conference

WARRENSBURG — Missouri FBLA District 10 officers welcomed chapters from 28 school districts Feb. 1 at the 2022 FBLA District 10 Leadership Conference. 

More than 500 students and advisors gathered at the host facility, University of Central Missouri, to learn, compete and celebrate at the first face-to-face District Conference in two years. FBLA members competed in more than 60 events ranging from Accounting and Agribusiness to Social Media Strategies and UX Design. The top performers in each event appeared on stage and were awarded medals.

Students also learned more about entrepreneurship and the effective use of social media in workshops led by Missouri FBLA State President Christian Voelmeck and Missouri PBL State President Seth Hogue.

The conference included officer elections; PBL State President Seth Hogue inducted the newly elected 2022-23 District 10 Officer Team: President Parker Cochran, Clinton High School,;Vice President of Communication Chloe Drake, Holden High School; Vice President of Membership Riley Lasswell, Clinton High School; Vice President of FBLA-PBL Relations Zoie Woodruff, Montrose; and Parliamentarian Stephanie Diaz, Smith-Cotton High School.

Attendees included DESE State Supervisor Dylan Kennedy who commented, “District 10 was the very first to kick off this year’s conference season for Missouri FBLA-PBL as well as Career and Technical Education Month. It was the best start for all of our members and advisers to return in person after a year of attending virtually. District 10 embodied our association’s mission and provided the best opportunities for our members.”

Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda Inc. is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) student business organization with nearly a quarter-million members and advisers in 6,000 chartered high school and college chapters worldwide.
