Jimmy Speakman, 35, of Bates City, suffered minor injuries at 11:16 p.m. Friday, April 5 in a Johnson County accident.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Speakman was driving a 1995 Chevrolet Silverado east on U.S. Highway 50 when he traveled off the roadway and struck an embankment.
Speakman was transported by Johnson County Ambulance District to Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg.
He was arrested for driving while intoxicated and failure to drive on the right-half of the roadway resulting in an accident.
Ronnie R. Joy, 36, of Holden, was killed at 5:54 a.m. Monday, April 8 in a Johnson County accident.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Joy was driving a 2000 Suzuki motorcycle west on U.S. Highway 50 when he attempted to pass a 2023 Ford F-150 driven west by Tracy J. Welloff, 59, of Centerview. Joy struck the front driver's side of Welloff’s vehicle, causing his motorcycle to overturn and he was ejected.
Joy was wearing a helmet and was transported to Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg. He was pronounced dead by Dr. Degner.
