Fatality reported in April 18 wreck
One fatality is reported in an April 18 wreck on eastbound Highway 50 at Northwest 1601 Road.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the wreck occurred when a 2005 Hyundai Elantra, driven by Dennis L. Miller, 75, of Kingsville, crossed the eastbound lanes of Highway 50 into the path of a 2014 Ford F-250, driven by Jeffrey A. Davis, 49, of Knob Noster. The Ford struck the Hyundai, the Hyundai traveled off the roadway, struck a light pole and overturned. The Ford traveled off the roadway, overturned and struck a traffic sign.
Miller was pronounced dead at the scene by Johnson County Coroner Clark Holdren.
Davis is reported to have minor injuries and was transported to Western Missouri Medical Center.
Miller and Davis are reported to have worn a safety device.
Both vehicles are reported to be a total loss.
MSHP was assisted by the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office.
MSHP reports this is the 14th fatality for Troop A in 2022.
