Juvenile seriously injured in Johnson County wreck

One person is reported to have serious injuries from a two-vehicle wreck July 20 on northbound Highway 23 at Route E. 

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that the wreck occurred when a 2012 Honda Fit, driven by Aidin J. Muehler, 21, of Maryville, attempted to make a left turn and was struck by a 1996 Chevrolet, driven by Harold W. List, 66, of Knob Noster.

A juvenile occupant is reported to have serious injuries and was transported by Johnson County Ambulance District to Centerpoint Medical Center. 

Muehler and List are both reported to have worn a safety device. The juvenile is reported to have not worn a safety device. 

Both the Honda and the Chevrolet are reported to be total losses. 

Waverly resident dies after falling out of vehicle

One fatality is reported from an incident involving one vehicle July 21 on southbound Highway 13.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the wreck occurred when a passenger, Burnie G. Jordan, 54, of Waverly, fell out of the bed of a 2004 Ford F-150, driven by Robert E. Long, 40, of Kansas City.
Jordan was transported by Life Flight to Research Medical Center in Kansas City where he was pronounced dead 

Jordan is reported to have not worn a safety device. Long is reported to have worn a safety device. 

The Ford is reported to have no damage. 

Minor injuries reported in wreck on NW 600 Road

One person is reported to have minor injuries from a single-vehicle wreck on July 21 on Northwest 600 Road west of Route M. 

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that the wreck occurred when a 2004 Jeep, driven by a juvenile, failed to negotiate a curve, traveling off the road and striking a ditch and fence.

The juvenile is reported to have minor injuries and was transported by private vehicle to Lee's Summit Medical Center. 

The juvenile is reported to have worn a safety device. 

The Jeep is reported to have extensive damage. 

Serious injuries reported in wreck on Highway 13

One person is reported to have serious injuries from a single-vehicle wreck on July 23 on Highway 13 North of Northwest 1050. 

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that the wreck occurred when a 2020 Harley-Davidson, driven by David M. Long, 57, of Odessa, traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a guardrail. 

Long is reported to have serious injuries and was transported by JCAD to Centerpoint Medical Center. 

Long is reported to have not worn a safety device. 

The Harley-Davidson is reported to have extensive damage.

Minor injuries reported in single-vehicle wreck

One person is reported to have minor injuries from a single-vehicle wreck on July 24 on Highway 50 east of Northwest 821 Road. 

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that the wreck occurred when a 2014 Volkswagen Jetta, driven by Steven R. Olvitt, 22, of Warrensburg, traveled off the right side of the roadway, causing the driver to overcorrect and travel off the left side of the roadway and strike a tree.

Olvitt is reported to have minor injuries and was taken to Western Missouri Medical Center. 

Olvitt is reported to have worn a safety device.

The Volkswagen is reported to have extensive damage.

Moderate injuries reported in July 24 wreck

One person is reported to have moderate injuries from a single-vehicle wreck July 24 on Highway 58 west of Northwest 1451 Road. 

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that the wreck occurred when a 2008 Triumph Sprint, driven by Hunter E. Burton, 26, of Higginsville, attempted to pass another vehicle and experienced mechanical issues with its front tire. 

Burton is reported to have minor injuries and was transported to Western Missouri Medical Center.

Burton is reported to have worn a safety device. 

The Triumph is reported to be a total loss.

Moderate injuries reported in July 24 wreck

One person is reported to have moderate injuries from a single-vehicle wreck July 24 on Highway Business 13 southeast of Southeast 190th Road. 

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that the wreck occurred when a 2021 Geely 20 Series Scooter, driven by Kelly M. Grand, 49, of Warrensburg, struck an animal in the roadway and ejected the driver. 

Grand is reported to have moderate injuries and was transported to Western Missouri Medical Center.

Grand is reported to have not worn a safety device. 

The scooter is reported to have moderate damage.
