Holden resident injured, arrested in Jackson County wreck 

One person is reported to have moderate injuries and one person is reported to have minor injuries in a Sept. 14 wreck on southbound Route F north of Colbern Road in Jackson County. 

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the wreck occurred when a 2021 Kia Rio, driven by William C. Campbell, 34, of Holden, crossed the center of the roadway and struck a 2013 Dodge Ram 1500, driven by Phillip A. Falke, 78, of Odessa. 

Campbell is reported to have moderate injuries and was transported by Lee’s Summit Fire to Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence. Campbell is reported to have not worn a safety device. 

Campbell was later arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated. 

Falke is reported to have minor injuries and was transported by Lee’s Summit Fire to Centerpoint Medical Center. Falke is reported to have worn a safety device. 

The Kia and Dodge are each reported to be a total loss. 

Three moderately injured in Sept. 16 wreck on Highway 2

Three people are reported to have moderate injuries from a two-vehicle wreck Sept. 16 in the 100 block of Southeast Highway 2. 

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the wreck occurred when a 2010 Kia, driven by Michael L. Gunter Finwick, 41, of Leeton, traveled across the center line and struck a 2000 Toyota, driven by Keenan C.. Buell, 20, of Warrensburg. 

Buell, Michael L. Gunter Finwick and occupant Michael P. Gunter Finwick, 46, of Leeton, are each reported to have moderate injuries and were transported to Western Missouri Medical Center. 

Buell, Michael L. Gunter Finwick and Michael P. Gunter Finwick are each reported to have worn a safety device. 

Both vehicles are reported to be a total loss. 

MSHP was assisted by the Johnson County Fire Protection District. 

Serious injuries reported in ATV wreck 

One person is reported to have serious injuries from a single-vehicle wreck Sept. 17 on Southwest 1801 Road near 1751 Road. 

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the wreck occurred when a Honda ATV, driven by Kevin A. Smith, 39, of Holden, had a mechanical malfunction and began to fall down a hill, ejecting both occupants. 

Occupant Jennifer L. Pemberton, 40, of Holden, is reported to have serious injuries and was transported by the Johnson County Ambulance District to Research Medical Center. 

Pemberton and Smith are each reported to have not worn a safety device. 

The ATV is reported to have minor damage. 

Moderate injuries reported in Sept. 18 wreck 

One person is reported to have moderate injuries in a two-vehicle wreck Sept. 18 on Highway 13 at Highway V. 

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the wreck occurred when a 2009 Honda, driven by Jack M. Profit, 19, of Warrensburg, pulled out in front of a 2014 Chevrolet, driven by Cameron J. Kelly, 23, of Concordia, causing the Chevrolet to strike the Honda. 

Profit is reported to have moderate injuries and was transported by the Johnson County Ambulance District to Western Missouri Medical Center. 

Profit and Kelly are each reported to have worn a safety device. 

The Honda and Chevrolet are each reported to be a total loss.
