Minor injuries reported in Sept. 20 wreck 

One person is reported to have minor injuries from a single-vehicle wreck Sept. 20 on Northwest 250 Road west of Highway 50. 

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the wreck occurred when a 2003 Chevrolet, driven by Jaeger G. Brandes, 18, of Centerview, swerved to avoid a deer, traveled off the roadway and overturned. 

Brandes is reported to have minor injuries and refused treatment at the scene. 

Brandes is reported to have worn a safety device. 

The Chevrolet is reported to have extensive damage. 

Fatality reported in Sept. 21 wreck 

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports a Kingsville resident has died after a wreck at Route T and Southwest 300 Road. 

MSHP reports the wreck occurred when a 2001 Ford, driven by Kaden A. Adams, 18, of Kingsville, failed to stop at a stop sign and struck the driver side of a 2001 GMC, driven by Maze M. Shields, 31, of Holden. 

Adams was initially transported by air ambulance to Children’s Mercy Hospital and was later pronounced at the hospital. 

Adams is reported to have not worn a safety device. 

Shields is reported to have worn a safety device. 

The Ford and GMC are each reported to be a total loss. 

MSHP was assisted by the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office. 

MSHP reports this is the 44th fatal crash and 46th fatality for Troop A in 2022. 

La Monte resident injured in Johnson County wreck 

One person is reported to have minor injuries from a two-vehicle wreck Sept. 21 at Highway 13 and Highway JJ. 

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the wreck occurred when a 1990 Ford F250, driven by Lester M. Flory, 78, of Chilhowee, swerved to avoid an unknown vehicle and struck a 2016 Ford Fusion, driven by Dara L. Blakely, 28, of La Monte. 

Blakely is reported to have minor injuries and was transported by private vehicle to Golden Valley Hospital. 

Blakely and Flory are each reported to have worn a safety device. 

The Fusion is reported to be a total loss. 

The F250 is reported to have extensive damage. 

Minor injuries reported in Sept. 21 wreck 

One person is reported to have minor injuries from a two-vehicle wreck Sept. 21 on westbound Highway 50 east of Northwest 1511 Road. 

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the wreck occurred when a 2015 Ford Escape, driven by Shannon P. Correll, 39, of Holden, cut in on and was struck by a 2022 Kenworth T880, driven by David D. Govan, 44, of Kansas City. 

Correll is reported to have minor injuries and was transported by the Johnson County Ambulance District to Western Missouri Medical Center. 

Correll and Govan are each reported to have worn a safety device. 

The Ford is reported to be a total loss. The Kenworth is reported to have minor damage.
