Fatality reported in June 17 wreck

One fatality was reported in a single-vehicle wreck June 17 in the 1200 block of Southwest  Highway 13. 

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the wreck occurred when a 2004 Mercury, driven by Carol M. Dixon, 31, of Clinton, attempted to pass another vehicle, swerved to avoid oncoming traffic, blew a tire, traveled off the roadway, struck several objects, overturned and struck a utility pole. 

Dixon was pronounced at the scene by Johnson County Coroner Clark Holdren. 

Dixon is reported to have worn a safety device. 

MSHP reports this is the 27th fatal crash in the Troop A region for 2022.
