Chilhowee teen hurt in Johnson County deer strike

May L. Pierce, 19, of Chilhowee suffered minor injuries at 10:10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30, in a Johnson County accident.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Pierce was driving a 2007 Dodge Caliber south on Route O when she struck a deer and traveled off the right side of the roadway.

It is unknown if Pierce was wearing a seat belt. She was transported by Johnson County Ambulance District to Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg.

Foristell man injured in Johnson County accident

Gordon J. Negus, 70, of Foristell suffered moderate injuries at 11:14 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30, in a Johnson County accident.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Negus was driving a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado east on U.S. Route 50 a quarter mile west of the Highway 13 bypass when he ran off the left side of the roadway and struck a road sign. Negus was wearing a seat belt, and was transported by Johnson County Ambulance District to Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg.
