Warrensburg area police reports for Jan. 27

Alex Manas, 43, was arrested Dec. 29 in the 800 block of College Street for resisting arrest and a fire code violation after officers were dispatched to assist the Warrensburg Fire Department in reference to an illegal burn. Officers contacted a known male who  admitted to lighting a fire that was in violation of the Warrensburg fire code. Officers attempted to arrest him, and he began to resist. OC Spray (pepper spray) was deployed in the male subject's eyes and he was placed into custody. He was transported to Western Missouri Medical Center for medical treatment and was released to the staff with a city summons for fire code violation and resisting arrest.

​Vance L. Thompson, 21, was arrested Dec. 30 in the 1200 block of Basswood Street for simple domestic assault after officers were dispatched in reference to a disturbance. Officers contacted a male and female who both stated a verbal dispute had occurred between them. After the investigation, officers arrested the male for domestic assault. He was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department, booked and released with a signed city summons.  

​Rashid Abudl Halim, 51, was arrested Dec. 30, in the 300 block of North Maguire Street, for disturbing public peace and trespassing after officers were dispatched to a business in reference to a disturbance. The business reported a known male who had previously been trespassed from the property was on scene. Officers made contact with the male and determined he had an active Boone County warrant. He was arrested and transported to the Johnson County Jail where he was placed on lieu of bond.

​Shannon Stockwell, 47, was arrested Dec. 30 in the 700 block of North Maguire Street for no proof of insurance, improper registration and driving while revoked after officers conducted a traffic stop for improper registration. Officers discovered he was driving while revoked and had two active warrants out of Pettis County and Illinois. He was arrested and transported to the Warrensburg Police Department, where he was booked and released with multiple citations after he re-bonded.

​Jamis A. Torrey, 39, was arrested Dec. 31 in the 300 block of North Street for first-degree harassment after officers were dispatched in reference to a domestic disturbance. Officers made contact with a male and a female. After further investigation, the male was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department, booked and released. The male was later transported to Western Missouri Medical Center for a mental health evaluation after confessing to homicidal ideations. Custody was transported to the hospital staff and officers completed affidavits on scene.

​David W. Paxton, 46, was arrested Dec. 31, in the 100 block of East Hunt Street for driving while intoxicated after officers were dispatched to the 700 block of South Maguire Street in reference to an intoxicated driver. Officers arrived in the area, located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. Upon conduct, officers discovered the driver was intoxicated. He was arrested and transported to the Warrensburg Police Department, where he was booked and released.

​Cordell J. Jellison, 26, was arrested Jan. 1 in the 500 block of Maple Street for obstruction and domestic assault, after officers were dispatched in reference to a domestic disturbance. Officers made contact with a male and a female who were involved. The male was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department, where he proceeded to be uncooperative with the booking process. He was booked and released with a signed city summons for domestic assault and obstruction.

​Timothy M. Sowards, 56, was arrested Jan. 2 in the 500 block of SE DD Highway for stealing a credit card and fraudulent use of a credit card after officers were dispatched to fraudulent activity in the 800 block of Prairie Hill Drive on Dec. 29. A man reported several fraudulent charges on his credit device at three different locations in Johnson County. Officers identified a male suspect and arrested him. He was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department, where he was booked and released pending state charges.

​Sean A. Rohman, 37, was arrested Jan. 2 in the 700 block of East Young Street for driving while revoked after officers conducted a traffic stop for no license plates displayed. Officers discovered the male was driving while revoked. He was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department, where he was booked and released with state charges for driving while revoked, no vehicle insurance and failure to register a vehicle.

​Garrett M. Sams, 18, was arrested Jan. 3 in the 200 block of South Street for minor in possession, failure to register a motor vehicle, failing to maintain the right half of the roadway, careless and imprudent driving, failing to yield at an intersection and operating a motor vehicle without a proper license after officers observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. Officers attempted a traffic stop, where the subject began to flee the area. Officers arrested the male after he crashed into another vehicle near Maguire Street. He was transported to the Johnson County Jail, where he was placed on a 24-hour hold.​

Stephen I. Brintall, 31, was arrested Jan. 3 in the 1000 block of Juniper Court for assault after officers were dispatched in reference to a disturbance. Officers made contact with a known male and female who were involved in an altercation. After investigation, the male was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department, where he was booked and released with a signed city summons.​

Ricky L. Smith, 30, was arrested Jan. 4 in the 700 block of North Maguire Street for driving while intoxicated after officers stopped a vehicle for making an improper turn. Officers arrested the male for driving while intoxicated. He was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department, where he was booked and released with a signed city summons for driving while intoxicated and improper turn.

​Aliyah J. Sparks, 21, was arrested Jan. 4 in the 300 block of Ming Street for leaving the scene of an accident after officers were dispatched to the 400 block of South Warren Street in reference to a motor vehicle crash. Officers located a disabled vehicle that struck a city street sign. Officers discovered no occupants, but later located the driver. She was arrested and transported to the Warrensburg Police Department, where she was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department, booked and released with a signed city summons for careless and imprudent driving and leaving the scene of a motor vehicle crash.

​Brittani L. Green, 38, was arrested for two separate cases of shoplifting Jan. 4 after officers were dispatched to the 300 block of East Cooper Boulevard after officers were dispatched in reference to a theft. Asset protection informed officers that the female shoplifted $33.28 worth of merchandise on Jan. 1, and had stolen multiple items from the store between Oct. 23 and Jan. 4. She was transported to the Warrensburg Police Department, where she was booked and released  for a signed city summons in both cases.
